Discipline: Road, Time Trial & Gravel
Bikes: Edward races on a Pinarello Dogma F12 with Vision TLR 40 wheels and Ultegra Di2 groupset and he also uses a time trial and gravel bike for training.
About: Edward is 16 years old and has been riding bikes since he was very young. Family holidays and weekends were all spent hiking and biking and he became involved in British Cycling Go ride MTB races which formed an introduction to competitive cycling. When he was 12 years old, Edward became inspired to move over to the Road following the Tour de Yorkshire and an introduction to pro rider Harry Tanfield who became a mentor and provided valuable advice and support. Training then began with Clifton CC at York and Edward would cycle to the track from Malton so he could stop off at Northern Ride each weekend. 1 year later, aged 13 he was riding his first national event and then various racing throughout the UK followed each season.
Training for hours each week he is lucky to live within the North York Moors where he can challenge himself on the many hills that he has become to love. 2025 will see Edward spend his first race season as a junior, racing for Otley CC Race Team combined with studying for his GCSEs.
Interesting Experience: Edward was selected to ride the Youth Tour of Scotland in 2024. This involved a fabulous experience of 4 days of open road racing alongside the top riders in the UK.
Aspirations: Edward would like to cycle professionally, and he would love to ride for an international team with the dream of being selected (and winning!) a grand tour.
