Merida Reacto Carbon aero bike with race proven ProTour geometry equipped with Shimano Ult Di2 drivetrain and hydraulic disc brakes.
The Merida Reacto has always been a class leading aero bike, combining state of the art aerodynamics with rider comfort. The 4th generation model is more slippery and beautiful than ever, incorporating wider tyres, much neater cockpit cable integration and a series of incremental improvements to boost performance. In the world of Pro-Tour racing no area can be ignored. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) calculations were used to model performance in a virtual wind tunnel, guiding the changes which offered the most aerodynamic benefit:
Prototypes were wind tunnel tested following the German TOUR magazine standard, including the ‘moving leg dummy’ test. The Reacto CF5 needs just 209 watts effort for 45 km/h speed, 1 watt faster than its predecessor so it's in the leading group of aero road bikes ever tested by TOUR magazine. Small details such as integrating the front disc cooler behind the fork and the rear disc caliper in the rear triangle and creating new bolt through axles with the thread integrated into the fork dropout minimise drag and improve aerodynamic performance. A myriad of small improvements over-compensate for the aerodynamic compromises made to give the Reacto bigger tyres, resulting in the perfect package of comfort, aerodynamic, lightweight and style.
A long string of test wins, perfect scores and awards confirm the successful evolution of the race-proven DNA of the previous model with the latest trends and technologies. Cycling Weekly described it as 'without doubt one of the most complete bikes available on the market', Cyclingnews 'an utterly brilliant and faultless machine' and Cycling Plus were 'hugely impressed'. All Reacto come with powerful hydraulic disc brakes. Calipers are mounted on the chainstay for better dissipation of braking forces using the flat mount standard for a neat, flush fit. Calipers sit on top of CNC'd aluminium Disc Cooler fins which reduce operating temperatures by up to 35%.

FAQ's:
Northern Ride | Frequently Asked Questions Please see below for many of the frequently asked questions. This area is designed to provide you with additional information prior to ordering online or before contacting us about your bike, customisation and pricing.
Availability: If a bike is showing as 'available' this means it is either in stock with us or at our suppliers warehouse; the delivery time when available is usually 3-5 working days. If there is a pre-order date this means the bike is currently not in stock or available at our suppliers and the next availability will be from that specific pre-order date; the delivery time will then be 3-5 working days from the pre-order date (please not on occasions pre-order dates can alter due to component availability).
Pre-Order: To pre-order a bike you simply need to use the 25% deposit code 'DEPOSIT25' during checkout. This will secure the bike with a 25% deposit with the rest payable prior to collection or delivery.
Competitive Pricing: We will simply offer you a competitive price across our range of bikes to every customer, every day of the year, not just during promotions. In addition to a competitive price, you will also receive our high level of service; check out our 5 stars google rating from recent reviews.
Price Match: We will endeavour to price match or even beat a price offered by other retailers based on their price and level of service. The majority of our bikes go out with some level of customisation (eg: wheelset upgrade, component size, gear ratios, tyre upgrades etc.) and this often provides better value than a discount. In addition, all our road bikes receive a complimentary Bike Fit on collection and we spend lots of time explaining the setup during collection too. If you have a bike you would like us to beat the price on you can complete our form here.
Finance: We offer 0% finance over 12 months, 4.9% finance over 18 months or 9.9% finance over 24 months. If you would like to enquire for a bike on finance you can contact us with the details using our finance application form here and we will email you an application. Alternatively you can come and see us at the shop and we will go through the finance application with you, see what you need to bring here.
Cycle to Work Scheme: A great way of saving money on your bike is using the cycle to work scheme. There are various schemes available to purchase your new bike and are usually unlimited in value. Some initiatives have a cap, however some also allow you to 'top-up' on your cycle to work scheme voucher allowing you to add money and purchase a higher value bike. Contact us for more details if you would like to use a cycle to work voucher as part of your purchase. If we don't currently do the initiative your employer offers we will simply sign up to it.
Customisation: We customises the majority of bikes that leave us in some way from fitting altering gear ratios to upgrading wheelsets. Use our enquiry form to contact us about customisation here.
Delivery & Shipping: The majority of our customers come to the shop to collect their bikes and receive a Bike Fit and setup advice. However if you are too far away or don't have time to collect we will simply send the bike to you, securely packed and insured. The bike will usually just require the bars tightening and front wheel inserting; setup advice will be sent via email to help you with this.
